A records check was conducted at the nearby Foidel Creek Mine office. The weather was sunny and <br />cool. Temperatures were around 45 degrees. No hydrologic or air quality issues were observed at the time of <br />inspection. <br /> <br />Maintenance items are noted in bold text. <br /> <br />INSPECTION <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br />The Peabody Sage Creek Mine is currently in Temporary Cessation since 2017. Mining facilities include an <br />excavated portal access area, conveyor structure, mine ventilation system, water tank and pump house, <br />maintenance building and ancillary facilities. Most of the infrastructure remains in place and the portals are sealed. <br />The maintenance and ancillary facilities on the north end are not well maintained. Equipment from the reclaimed <br />Williams Fork site has been relocated and stored in the Sage Creek Mine facility area for possible future use. Over <br />the years, some equipment has been removed and utilized at the nearby Foidel Creek mine. <br /> <br />SIGNS and MARKERS – Rule 4.02 <br />Mine and Permit Identification Signs 4.02.2, Permeter Markers 4.02.3, Stream and Buffer Zone Markers 4.02.5, <br />Topsoil Markers 4.02.7 <br /> A mine sign was in place at the site entrance which included the mine name, operator name, address, <br />phone number, DRMS permit number (Photo 1). Rule 4.30.1(3) states that when tempoary cessation <br />extends beyond 30 days, the operator shall modify the mine identification sign to include the name, <br />address, and telephone number of the Division office where the mining and reclamation permit is <br />filed. The Operator will need to post this information on a sign at the entrance. <br /> Blue plastic marking stakes were observed delineating the disturbance boundary around the site (Photo 2). <br /> Stream buffer markers were observed near Pond 3 adjacent to Grassy Creek. <br /> <br />
