Engineering Evaluation Report <br /> 291 Pit, Salida, Colorado <br /> November 2025 <br /> Introduction/General <br /> The 291 Pit is located on the north end of the Town of Salida on the west side of Colorado <br /> Highway 291 off Chaffee County Roads 150 and 151. Refer to Exhibit A. The legal description is as <br /> follows: <br /> LEGAL DESCRIPTION <br /> A tract of land located in the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 30,Twp. 50 North, Range 9 East <br /> of the N.M.P.M., being described as follows: Beginning at a point on the Southwesterly right <br /> of way boundary of Colorado State Highway No. 291 and also being the Northeasterly corner <br /> of a tract described in Book 339 at Page 415 of the Records of Chaffee County, Colorado,from <br /> whence the West '/< Corner (brass cap) of said Section 30 bears North 79* 25.2' West 1674.5 <br /> feet; thence continuing around the tract South 1* 11' West along the easterly boundary of <br /> said tract described in Book 339 at page 415 a distance of 755.1 feet to the Northerly right of <br /> way boundary as fenced of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad; thence along said <br /> fenced railroad right of way boundary on a curve to the right to a point on the Southwesterly <br /> right of way boundary of Colorado State Highway No. 291 which is North 86* 45.9' East 697.7 <br /> feet from the last previously described point; thence along said highway right of way <br /> boundary on a curve to the left to the point of beginning which is North 43* 34.8' West 987.8 <br /> feet from the last previously described point;containing 6.03 acres more or less. <br /> Subject to all existing easements and easements of record. <br /> The purpose of this evaluation is to verify that on-site structures and off-site structures within <br /> 200-feet of the site will not be damaged by activities occurring on or entering/leaving the site. <br /> Structures in Question <br /> There is one property at the northwest corner of the 291 Pit site that has structures within 200- <br /> feet of the site and does not have a signed agreement with the pit owner. This 0.93-acre property <br /> owned by Wendy and Jason Ryan (9455 Hwy 291) has a single-family home and ancillary <br /> structures on the site. There is also an Xcel power line that traverses through the site. Colorado <br /> State Highway 291 lies along the north/east property line. Refer to Exhibit B. <br /> 1 <br />
