Summary of Environmental Consequences and Mitigation Measures for the <br /> Proposed Reclamation Activities. <br /> Resource/Impact Mitigation <br /> Gunnison Sage-grouse • Timing stipulations are likely at these two sites. <br /> The JD-9 Water Treatment site abuts potential <br /> sage-grouse habitat;the JD-9 Portal is within 1 <br /> mile of designated critical habitat. <br /> Other Threatened and Endangered Species: • No mitigation needed. <br /> No other threatened or endangered species are <br /> expected within the lease areas. <br /> Raptors • No mitigation needed unless an active raptor nest <br /> No raptors were observed flying,roosting,or is located within 1 mile or 0.5 mile of a site,in <br /> nesting on the lease sites or within a 1-mile which case activities should occur only outside <br /> buffer of the proposed disturbance sites. the nesting season(May 1 through July 30).The <br /> 1-mile buffer is for golden eagles and ferruginous <br /> hawks;all other species have a buffer area of 0.5 <br /> mile. <br /> Big Game • No mitigation needed. <br /> The lease sites are used by elk,mule deer and, <br /> • possibly,mountain sheep. <br /> Passerine Birds No mitigation needed but minimizing removal of <br /> shrub habitat during the nesting season would <br /> Pinyon juniper and sagebrush species are decrease the potential loss of active nests. <br /> expected;habitat is plentiful in area. <br /> Bats • Discussion on mitigation measures concerning <br /> Guano was found in all three mine portals;bats are portal closure methods. <br /> expected at all three locations. <br /> Other Mammals • No mitigation needed. <br /> Typical species found in pinyon juniper and <br /> sagebrush habitats are expected; habitat is <br /> plentiful in the area. <br /> Amphibians and Reptiles • No mitigation needed. <br /> Habitat is absent for amphibians,but reptiles that <br /> utilize rocky outcrops, pinyon juniper and <br /> sagebrush habitats is present. <br /> Fish • No mitigation needed. <br /> No bodies of water are found within the lease <br /> areas. <br /> • <br /> March 2024 Real West Natural Resource Consulting <br />
