The operator may import material from other sites. The applicant is
aware that in accordance with Rule 3.1.5 (9) of the Construction
Material Rules and Regulations, if any offsite material is used as backfill
a notorized letter will be submitted to the Division indicating the
materials are inert. The applicant will supply such a letter to the
Division if the applicant intends to use off site material as backfill. At
this time no imported materials are anticipated.
This operation will not impact surface or groundwater. Stormwater will
be controlled on site and released in a controlled manner so as to not
damage off site areas in accordance with the operation's stormwater
management plan. Water will be purchased off site and hauled to the
location if needed for dust control either for roads or processing.
The whole 38.77 acres will be mined at the same time. If possible areas
that have been mined and are out of the future mining areas will be
reclaimed and addressed for release. The reclaimed areas will be
sloped and graded so as to return them back to the owner for it's
previous use as cropland.
The operation is estimated to be completed and reclaimed within five
years based on todays market demands. However the site can be
expanded to add up to 400 more acres for mining as per the lease.
This will be accomplished by amendments to the current permit if needed
and approved.
The thickness of the topsoil is 6" to 12",the overburden
ranges from 1'to 3'.The sand and gravel resource is an
alluvial deposit that ranges in depth from 5'to 15' depending on the
claystone layer under the gravel.
The stratum immediately beneath the sand and gravel deposit
is claystone with lenses of siltstone and sandstone bedrock.
The primary commodities are sand and gravel to be used in road bases,
screened rock and fill materials intended for constuction usages such
as new roadways, drilling pads, reclaimed well sites and maintenance
of existing roadways.
No secondary commodities are planned.
There are no expected incidental products to be mined or produced.
No explosives will be used for mining or reclamation.
2
