Exhibit D
Mining Plan
This site has been mined under an approved 112 permit since 2014. It is
being amended due to an increase in acreage increasing the minable
acres from 29.57 to 38.77. Mining will be done in one phase as before
mining from west to east and north to south. The western boundary
has been daylighted through as previously planned and 10.15 acres have
been reclaimed and released on the west. The three remaining sides of
the site will be mined at a minimum 4:1 slope allowing for farming
when reclaimed with a 10 foot set back from the mining boundaries left
in place. The setback will be identified by a berm placed along the boundery
during the time the site is being stripped. When the mining approches the
boundaries the slopes will be identified and mined according to the permit,
with the slopes being left in place as required.
Scrapers will strip the topsoil and overburden materials and place them
in the designated areas for future use during reclamation. These areas
are located at the south end of the permit area and on the west side.
The topsoil will be seeded if left undisturbed for one growing season.
The overburden is described as a brown, silty, clayey sand layer between
the topsoil and the top of the gravel deposit. It is a saleable material that
is used for stuctural fill or fill dirt. It will also be used for the reclamation
if needed for final grading and leveling.
Front end loaders will be used to tranport material from the
embankment areas to the crusher or screening plants for
processing. The finished materials will be stockpiled by stacking
conveyors or front end loaders, which ever one is required. Material
will be loaded with front end loaders into trucks to be transported
from the site for sales.
WCR 138 is used for access to the site from WCR 71. WCR 138 is the
responsibility of Superior Oilfield Services and was built and maintained by
them under an agreement with Weld County and the property owner. The
road is to remain in place post mining per the agreement. The road was built
to Weld County specifications for a two lane road acceptable for truck
traffic. There are no new roads proposed or improvements to existing roads
planned. There are no associated drainage or runoff conveyance structures.
1
