INTRODUCTION
The Yampa Valley Gravel Pit, formerly known as the Frentress Pit, is a 112c conversion from a
110 permit. The 110 permit (M-2011-017) includes 9.9 acres of affected land with a majority of
area as the active pit and scale. The new 112c boundary will include a total 182.4 permitted
acres with 182.4 acres of affected land. At the time of permitting, the DRMS did not require the
private access road to be included within the permit boundary. The site anticipated mining from
2011 until 2021 and is close to running out of reserves within the 110 permit area. The current
operator CRC Inc. wishes to expand the site to include the access road, cover the dry
agricultural fields surrounding the current operation, and to maintain a similar disturbed area
foot-print.
Yampa Valley Gravel Pit
August 2025 i-I Lewicki&Associates
