1 I3U
Rock U.C.
Spec aggregates
1850 E. 1st. street, Craig, CO 81625
Phone& Fax (970) 824-2709
WagnerCorpColo@aol.com
2016' Inspection of Wagner Rock Pit
M1999-018 Financial Warrantee Increase Objection
10-05-2016
Upon further review of DRM&S estimates and calculations of backfill
quantities, it appears that the division has a different view of post mined land
use and the reclamation plan of the pit.
Since there has been no change in regulation affecting our reclamation plan,
we conclude that the existing mining plan remains in affect.
Our reclamation of the pit will include grading the floor area leaving
aggregate exposed for the storage of hay. The North slope will be mined
leaving the pit open and exposed to the north. A small safety berm will be
shaped with a 3 to 1 slope and revegetated. Quantities for this berm are in
place at this time.
Note; This method would have exposed to much change in the overall
appearance and would have cost more in reclamation efforts. The East
slope was reduced to a 2 to 1 with a CAT D-6 Dozer as with all slope
reductions.
All other side slopes will be pulled down to a 2 to 1 slope and revegetated
with top-soil that is piled on the South side of the pit. Adequate quantities
currently exist for this effort.
Note; As evidenced with the 3 acres recently reclaimed, slope reductions
were conducted with a CAT D-6 size dozer requiring 22 hours. Slope
reductions were conducted simply by cutting the top 15' of highwall and
pushing it the bottom toe. Reclamation efforts conducted last week comprise
45% of the mines necessary slope reduction requirements.
