DeBeque Gravel Pit SWSP Page 5 of 10
August 7, 2025
Lagged depletions are 84.23 acre-feet per year, or 168.46 acre-feet for this SWSP
period, as shown on attached Table 4.
Replacement SuI?I?
Based on a worst-case call scenario on the Colorado River at Cameo, the Applicant
anticipates that they will be out-of-priority 158 days out of the year. Additionally, a ten
percent (10%) transit loss is assessed for the delivery of the replacement water. Based on the
call scenario and a 10% transit loss, an estimated 25.24 acre-feet per year of replacement
water is required, as shown on attached Table 4.
The Applicant has 27.8 acre-feet of replacement water available through two (2) sources:
1. The first source of replacement is water leased from CRWCD for 13.3 acre-feet of
water from Wolford Reservoir to the Colorado River below the Roaring Fork
Confluence, as described in contract number CW12006, attached. Wolford Mountain
Reservoir is located on the Muddy Creek drainage and was decreed by the Division 5
Water Court in case nos. 87CW283, 95CW281, and 98CW237.
2. The second source of replacement is water leased from WDWCD for up to 14.5
acre-feet per year of water via exchange releases made by the District out of storage
from Ruedi Reservoir, Green Mountain Reservoir, Alsbury Reservoir, or other WDWCD
works or facilities as described in contract number 2308250CDCP(a), attached.
Conditions of Approval
This SWSP is hereby approved pursuant to section 37-90-137(11), C.R.S., subject to the
following conditions:
1 . This SWSP is approved with the effective date of August 1, 2025 and shall be
valid through July 31, 2027 unless otherwise revoked or modified. If this SWSP
will not be made absolute by a water court action by the SWSP expiration date, a
renewal request must be submitted to this office with the statutory fee of $257 no
later than June 1, 2027.
