DeBeque Gravel Pit SWSP Page 6 of 9
July 15, 2025
3. Approval of this SWSP is for the purposes as stated herein. This office must first
approve any additional uses for which the water may be used.
a. Total consumption at the DeBeque Gravel Pit must not exceed these following
amounts unless an amendment is made to this SWSP:
b. The total surface area of the groundwater exposed at the DeBeque Gravel Pit
must not exceed 8.72 acres, which results in a maximum evaporative annual
loss of 27.59 acre-feet per year.
c. The annual water used for dust control at the DeBeque Gravel Pit shall not
exceed 1.29 acre-feet per year.
d. The total product mined at the DeBeque Gravel Pit site shall not exceed 75,000
tons per year, which results in 1.10 acre-feet of water lost with the mined
aggregate for each year of operation under this plan.
e. The volume of intermittent fill is limited to 52.0 acre-feet per year.
4. All pumping for dust control shall be measured in a manner acceptable to the
Division Engineer.
5. Replacement water shall be made available to cover all out-of-priority depletions
in time, place and amount and shall be made available under the direction and/or
approval of the Water Commissioner. The replacement water that is the subject of
this SWSP cannot be sold or leased to any other entity. As a condition of
subsequent renewals of this SWSP, the replacement water must be appurtenant to
this site until a plan for augmentation is obtained. This SWSP does not allow for
offsite water deliveries. All replacement water must be concurrent with depletions
in quantity, timing, and locations.
6. Releases of replacement water must be sufficient to replace all out-of-priority
depletions in time, place, and amount and must be made under the direction
and/or the approval of the water commissioner.
