CPW recommends the development and implementation of a noxious weed
control plan for the site. It is recommended that all disturbed soils in the area
be monitored for noxious weeds and noxious weeds should be actively
controlled until native plant revegetation and reclamation is achieved. It is
recommended that all areas disturbed by the development be revegetated
with native plant species.
If fill material will be used in the project, CPW recommends using a native fill
material that would be conducive to growing native vegetation. Non-native
vegetation can out-compete native vegetation and thus degrade valuable
wildlife habitat.
CPW also recommends that at each trench a gradual slope be in place leading
out. This would allow any wildlife that happens to fall in the trenches to
escape with ease. It is also recommended that any trenches or holes created
from excavation be closed and reclaimed as soon as work is complete to
minimize impacts to wildlife."
I commit to following all of the above stated recommendations from the CPW.
Each of the recommendation made by the CPW for (1) avoiding excess erosion [see
Exhibit 6.3.3 (1) (c)], (2) avoiding disturbance of more land than necessary [see
Exhibits 6.3.3 (1) (f); 6.3.4 (1)(a); 6.3.4 (1) (c) (ii)], (3) re-using the original topsoil
[6.3.4 (1) (c) (v)] and (4) planting only native vegetation [6.3.4 (1) (c) (ii)] can be found
in our current mining and reclamation plans.
In addition, the following CPW recommendations are included in the permit
application; At each trench a gradual slope will be in place to allow any wildlife to
escape should they fall into the trench, [see Exhibit B, 6.3.2(d)]; all disturbed soils in
the area will be monitored for noxious weeds and noxious weeds will be actively
Y
controlled until native plant revegetation and reclamation is achieved [see Exhibit
6.3.4 (1) (c) (iii)].
Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment
Permit not needed.
Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment.
