Sedgwick County Road and Bridge Soil Borrow Area to Gravel Pit Conversion Page 10
110(c) Operation Reclamation Permit July 3, 2025
3.5 On-Site Processing
Extracted materials were directly hauled off or stockpiled and no on-site processing of extracted
materials occurred.
3.6 Projected Extraction Rate
Based on a combination of SCRB records and volumetric calculations based on original and recent
ground surveys, approximately 13,550 cubic yards, equating to approximately 16,260 tons( based
on general classification on the excavated soil materials) of soil material was removed form the
site between August of 2023 and September of 2024.
3.7 Mining Phases
This information is not applicable to the current objectives of this permit application due to its
retrospective nature.
3.8 Stockpile Handling
Based on engineering calculations supported by recent survey and comparison to historic
undisturbed site records, two types of stockpiles currently exist on the site. The first contains
approximately 2,018 cubic yards of stripped topsoil, and the second represents construction borrow
soils that were never removed from the site and are currently earmarked as general fill for final
site grading and reclamation. These stockpiles are shown on Figures 5 and 7.
3.9 Commodities to be Mined
Clayey sands and gravels represent the predominant spoil types that were excavated from the site
and used for foundation fill for a commercial construction site in the Town of Julesburg.
3.10 Refuse and Acid Forming or Toxic Producing Materials
There is no refuse and acid-forming or toxic producing materials that were extracted.
3.11 Use of Explosives
There were no explosives used in conjunction with prior soil borrow operations.
