LIAKEWOOD <br /> BRICK & TILE COMPANY <br /> Since <br /> 1930 <br /> Phone:303.238.5313 Fax:303.237.7737 <br /> 1325 Jay Street <br /> Lakewood,CO 80214 <br /> April 3, 2025 <br /> Division of Mining, Reclamation, and Safety <br /> Attn: Ben Hammar, Environmental Protection Specialist <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Re: Church Pit (M-1979-045) Amendment-02 <br /> This amendment will cover five (5) changes: first, the boundary of the mine <br /> will be amended to more accurately reflect the boundary of the clay and sandstone <br /> mining; second, the final reclamation plan will be changed to include the preferred <br /> option of Developed Water storage surrounded by rangeland; the third is to allow <br /> mining and processing of the sandstone and other miscellaneous rock products <br /> along the east and west sides of the clay deposit; the fourth is to include a <br /> composting operation; and the last is to finalize completion of the ditch relocation <br /> anticipated in the 1984 Amendment. <br /> The Lakewood Brick and Tile Co. operated Church Pit (M-1979-045) is <br /> directly adjacent to the Burnco operated Rocky Flats Pit (M-1987-113). The <br /> amended permit boundary will provide a line of separation that more accurately <br /> reflects the actual mining area for each respective company, moving the majority of <br /> the gravel operation to the Rocky Flats Pit and leaving the existing clay and <br /> sandstone mining operations in the Church Pit. This change results in a net <br /> increase in the Rocky Flats Pit permit area and a net decrease in the Church Pit <br /> permit area. With the approval of the amendment, the boundary will reduce in size <br /> the affected land of the Church Pit from the present 75.7± acres to 58.1± acres, a <br />
