Ref.Page No.M2009-006 00083 <br /> the sandstone forms a "pavement" and vegetation is confined to the cracks in the <br /> rock. The vegetation is characterized by a mosaic of ponderosa pine woodlands, <br /> mountain mahogany shrublands, and small grassland openings. Vegetation on and <br /> adjacent to the Subject Property includes various grass and forb species (including <br /> silver sage, needle-and-thread grass, yucca, Indian rice grass, prickly-pear cactus), <br /> ponderosa pines, aspen and cottonwood. Ponderosa pines are the predominant <br /> trees on the western slope of this area, and comprise the dominant vegetation on the <br /> Subject Property. Historic grazing and agricultural use of the property has affected <br /> the vegetation on the Subject Property. <br /> Wildlife Information and Effect of Proposed Operation on Existing Wildlife <br /> Wildlife species that utilize the Subject Property or properties immediately adjacent <br /> to the Subject Property include mule deer, foxes, coyotes, raptors, black bear, <br /> songbirds, reptiles, rabbits, skunk and other rodent species.
