Page No. M2009-006 00081 <br /> 6.4.8 EXHIBIT H— Wildlife Information <br /> Introduction <br /> This Wildlife Statement is provided as required by, and consistent with, the <br /> Application requirements as set forth in Colorado Administrative Code 2 CCR407-4- <br /> 6 et seq. (the "Permit Application Exhibit Requirements" or"PAER"). As provided in <br /> PAER, this wildlife statement is not required to be prepared or reviewed by the <br /> Colorado Parks and Wildlife ("CPW"). However, the Applicant contacted CPW and <br /> was advised that CPW would not provide pre-application review, advice or <br /> consultation. After consultation with local resources familiar with the area of the <br /> subject property, the game and non-game resources on and in the vicinity of the <br /> property, and review of publicly available wildlife resource information relevantto the <br /> area, Applicant has prepared this Wildlife Information Statement. <br /> Subject Property and Environs <br /> The Applicant's property (the "Subject Property") comprises approximately 44 acres <br /> of land situate approximately 2 miles south of the Carter Lake South Campground <br /> (location shown in Image H-1 below). The Subject Property legal description is <br /> contained in Exhibit_A to this Application, and sits on the western slope of the hillside <br /> immediately adjacent to S. County Road 31 (the unimproved dirt road extension from <br /> the intersection of N. County Road 31 and Gregory Drive) at elevation between <br /> approximately 5,600 ft. and 5,800 ft. The property lies to the west end of the Blue <br /> Mountain Fault, which contributed to the formation of the Meadow Hollow Valley. <br /> The Subject Property lies within an expansive area of"Agricultural and Commercial <br /> Enterprise"Zoning by Larimer County (shown by the tan shading in the map below). <br /> The Subject Property, as well as approximately 328 acres of contiguous land <br /> bordering the west of the Subject Property, has historically been dedicated to mining <br /> and quarrying operations. Properties adjacent to the Subject Property to the <br /> immediate north and east comprising approximately 267 acres has historically been <br /> used for ranching and equine activities. Approximately 75 acres of land immediately <br /> to the south and southwest of the Subject Property has previously been used for <br /> quarry operations, and is presently privately owned and used for outdoor recreation <br /> by the owner. <br /> Rest of page intentionally left blank. <br />
