Ref. Page No. M2009-006 00081
6.4.8 EXHIBIT H— Wildlife Information
Introduction
This Wildlife Statement is provided as required by, and consistent with, the
Application requirements as set forth in Colorado Administrative Code 2 CCR407-4-
6 et seq. (the "Permit Application Exhibit Requirements" or"PAER"). As provided in
PAER, this wildlife statement is not required to be prepared or reviewed by the
Colorado Parks and Wildlife ("CPW"). However, the Applicant contacted CPW and
was advised that CPW would not provide pre-application review, advice or
consultation. After consultation with local resources familiar with the area of the
subject property, the game and non-game resources on and in the vicinity of the
property, and review of publicly available wildlife resource information relevantto the
area, Applicant has prepared this Wildlife Information Statement.
Subject Property and Environs
The Applicant's property (the "Subject Property") comprises approximately 44 acres
of land situate approximately 2 miles south of the Carter Lake South Campground
(location shown in Image H-1 below). The Subject Property legal description is
contained in Exhibit_A to this Application, and sits on the western slope of the hillside
immediately adjacent to S. County Road 31 (the unimproved dirt road extension from
the intersection of N. County Road 31 and Gregory Drive) at elevation between
approximately 5,600 ft. and 5,800 ft. The property lies to the west end of the Blue
Mountain Fault, which contributed to the formation of the Meadow Hollow Valley.
The Subject Property lies within an expansive area of"Agricultural and Commercial
Enterprise"Zoning by Larimer County (shown by the tan shading in the map below).
The Subject Property, as well as approximately 328 acres of contiguous land
bordering the west of the Subject Property, has historically been dedicated to mining
and quarrying operations. Properties adjacent to the Subject Property to the
immediate north and east comprising approximately 267 acres has historically been
used for ranching and equine activities. Approximately 75 acres of land immediately
to the south and southwest of the Subject Property has previously been used for
quarry operations, and is presently privately owned and used for outdoor recreation
by the owner.
Rest of page intentionally left blank.
