Ref. Page No. M2009-006 00040
6.4.3 EXHIBIT C—Item (d)
The Subject Property comprises approximately 44 acres of land (see Map C-4), of
which 9.9 acres is currently subject to an active permitted 110c mining operation (see
Map C-5). The Subject Property also includes an area of pre-law mining operation of
approximately 4.5 acres(see Map B-4 included at Exhibit B of this Application.
The Applicant is proposing to expand the permitted mining operations to an
additional+/-34 acres of land. Following the permitting of the additional+/-34 acres
the permitted mining operation will cover the entirety of the Subject Property(i.e. the
deeded metes and bounds of the Subject Property).
It is expected that mining operations will proceed on the area of the Subject Property
immediately adjacent to the north and south of the current 110c mining operation.
Mining in these areas will commence in phases over the next several years (see
Exhibit D to this Application). Mining will be limited to areas to west of the road on the
Subject Property (i.e. area west and above approx. 5600 feet as[). Commercially
minable Lyons Sandstone formation is present at these areas(and runs to depths 250
feet to 325 feet thickness in this area). Below this area (on the east of the Subject
Property) the subsurface material is Colluvium and Lykins Formation (comprised of
bouldery to pebbly silt and clay, and shale and siltstone) which is not suitable
material for mining or for which there is no economic or marketable purpose.
Rest of page intentionally left blank.
