Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining, and Safety RECEIVED
1313 Sherman Street,Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 FEB 21 2025
:; CAS SIOn of Reclamation,
February 17,2025 IklGrpo and Salley
RE:West Side Placer(M-2016-081)—Response to Adequacy Review#1 (AR#1_CN2_M2016081.pdf)
Dear Hunter Ridley,
AuPt Industries LLC appreciates the Division's review of our application to convert the West Side Placer from a
110 to a 112 operation. Pursuant to the Adequacy Review#1 (AR#1_CN2_M2016081.pdf),we have updated our
project Exhibits to address all comments and clarifications requested by the Division. Below is a summary of our
revisions:
MINING PLAN(EXHIBIT D)
• Dry-Screening Process: Replaced references to a"wash-plant"with a"screening plant;'emphasizing no water
is used in our primary mineral processing, which now produces a 6 mesh minus sand product.
• Disturbance Acreage: Clarified that the screening plant footprint adds to a maximum total of 21 disturbed
acres at any time(five-acre mining blocks, up to three active simultaneously, plus six acres for the plant area).
• Timelines&Operations: Refined operational descriptions to ensure consistency with revised acreage and in
response to the Division's concerns about concurrency and final reclamation timelines.
RECLAMATION PLAN (EXHIBIT E)
• Progressive Reclamation:Expanded details on the continuous reclamation approach, mining blocks, and
immediate reclamation once blocks are mined out.
• No Water in Processing:Confirmed that water usage is solely for dust control and other minor needs, with no •
water-based mineral extraction.
WATER INFORMATION (EXHIBIT G)
• Future Wells:Added explicit clarification that while only one well (Permit#80109) currently exists,up to three
additional wells might be drilled if future operational or monitoring needs arise. Their approximate locations
are indicated in 6.4.3 EXHIBIT C.
• Stormwater Treatment:Specified that"water quality treatment" refers exclusively to stormwater BMPs (e.g.,
berms, ditches), aligning with the Division's inquiry about end-dates for any water-related treatment.
RECLAMATION COSTS(EXHIBIT L)
• Borehole Removal: Revised the"Borehole Removal x4"line item to clarify that only one well exists now,but
the estimate includes up to four total wells as a contingency. If fewer wells are ultimately necessary, reclamation ..5
scope and costs will be adjusted accordingly.
Yrj
• Cost Breakdown: Provided updated equipment cost tables reflecting the shift to dry-screening equipment and
verifying the timeline and acreage to be reclaimed.
HARDROCK/METAL MINING REGULAR f1121 APPLICATION AuPt Industries LLC I PO Box 1424-Edwards Colorado 81632 1 970 306 1784
