16.4.21(6)] Designated Chemical and Material Handling
Description of Designated Chemicals
Designated chemicals will not be used at any time; therefore, disposal or detoxification
processing for process chemicals will not be necessary. Feedstock material has the potential to
have been toxic and/or acid forming while stockpiled on the mine site from which it was
extracted. The purpose of the project is to permanently remove these legacy stockpiles from the
site, thus reducing toxic and/or acid forming source material from the watershed and
environment.
Material Handling
Concentrates are placed in 1-ton super sacks, loaded on a flatbed truck/trailer and taken off site
daily from our 3rd party purchaser.
By-product is loaded on dump trucks and or semi-trucks and taken off site daily to our 3rd party
purchaser.
Process Water
The circuit utilizes a (ZLD)Zero Liquid Discharge recirculating water system. The(RGRP)will
use a local water delivery service to supply water to the site by a third party. We are in
discussions with Foothills Water Services LLC located in Conifer, CO for this service. The
project will not encounter/impact surface or ground water. No water will be discharged on site.
The (RGRP) water circuit will be tested daily to ensure the pH does not exceed 8.5, quicklime
and or Sodium Bisulfate will be added to the circuit as needed to maintain circuit pH range of 6.4
- 8.4. There will be no on-site stocking/storage of any additives or water treatment chemicals.
The quicklime and sodium bisulfate will be purchased, brought on site and added to the circuit
on an as needed basis. If any byproduct material or oversized remains are piled overnight or
when the circuit is not in operation, the temporary stockpiles will be covered with tarps as well
as surrounded with drainage waddles/silt fencing to eliminate erosion or the traveling of material
that could have the chance of being exposed to moisture.
16.4.21(7)] Facilities Evaluation
Not applicable.
16.4.21(8 and 9)] Ground Water Information
Groundwater will not be impacted or intercepted by the(RGRP).
16.4.21(10 and 11)] Surface Water Information
No surface water exists on the property. Site runoff will be limited to only storm water during
precipitation or snow melting events. Waddles or silt fencing will be utilized around the
downslope end of piles to ensure material remains on private property.
