Measurement and Payment
No measurement for payment shall be made for this item. Payment will be lump sum under ITEM
4.0 of the Bid Schedule and will be made upon completion of the item and approval by the
PROJECT MANAGER. This price shall include all materials, labor, equipment, rentals,
coordination time, and all other items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks described
in ITEM 4.0.
ITEM 5.0 CAMP TRAILER-ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND REMOVAL
The site includes a twelve-foot (12 ft.) by ten-foot (10 ft.) camp trailer. An asbestos survey was
performed at the camp trailer located at the Black Rose mine on June 14, 2024. Eighteen (18)
Bulk samples were collected from a camp trailer by Foothills Environmental, Inc. The results
from the survey indicate that two (2) materials were identified as asbestos containing materials
(ACM). (See attached Foothills report). Task 5.0 requires the abatement, removal and disposal
of all asbestos containing material noted in the June 26t", 2024, Foothills report.
The exterior caulk around the windows, doors, other exterior penetrations, roof hatch, siding
edges trim, roof trim, etc. contain asbestos and will need to be abated before the trailer is
demolished if the plan is to demo in place. The caulks are non-friable but would be rendered
friable during demolition. The other option would be to wrap the trailer in plastic and remove it
to the landfill intact.
Following asbestos abatement, the camp trailer will be removed from the site to an
authorized waste disposal facility. All asbestos noted in the Foothills report must be
removed, or properly abated, prior to demolition in accordance with all Federal, State and
County Rules and Regulations. Demolition must be in accordance with Colorado Department
of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE), Regulation 8. Disposal shall be in
accordance with CDPHE Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division regulations. If
non-friable material is to be left in place during demolition, it shall not be subject to abrasion,
grinding, sanding or any other process during demolition that will render the non-friable
material friable.
Asbestos permitting, removal, transport and disposal for all asbestos containing materials at
the Black Rose Mine must be performed by a Colorado-certified General Abatement
Contractor in accordance with all Federal, State and County Rules and Regulations. Any
Federal, State (Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment; CDPHE) or
County permits required for the removal of the asbestos containing material is the
responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. A copy of all documentation related to the permitting,
abatement, transporting and disposal of asbestos containing material must be provided to the
PROJECT MANAGER. CONTRACTOR MUST SUPPLY PROJECT MANAGER WITH A
WRITTEN ABATEMENT PLAN PRIOR TO CONDUCTING AN ASBESTOS ABATEMENT.
Any confirmation sampling of the materials noted in the Foothills report is the responsibility of
the CONTRACTOR.
Page 121
