There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this item will be reflected in a <br /> lump sum quote under Item 2.0 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum quote will cover all <br /> costs for developing and implementing the Project Safety Plan or SHEAP, including <br /> writing and revising the plan as required, provision and maintenance of safety equipment, <br /> conduct of daily safety meetings and all other items necessary and incidental to meeting <br /> the specifications of this item and of the Project Safety Plan or SHEAP. Payment shall be <br /> made as this item is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> ITEM 3.0 ERADICATE TAMARISK AND NOXIOUS WEEDS <br /> Tamarisk plants and noxious weeds were eradicated in a previous project. However, <br /> tamarisk and weeds have re-emerged on previously reclaimed land. <br /> Weeds and tamarisk will be sprayed with herbicide such as Habitat, or equivalent <br /> Approximately two acres (2 ac.) will require treatment. <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> There will be no measurement for payment. This lump sum quote will cover all <br /> costs for tamarisk eradication including equipment, maintenance, and operator costs. <br /> Payment shall be made as this item is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. <br /> ITEM 3.0 PLANT SEEDLING TREES <br /> Plant 750 10 (ci) cottonwood tree seedling on site according to the specifications outlined <br /> below. TREES WILL BE PROVIDED BY PROJECT MANAGER. Fertilizer is not <br /> required. Trees will be watered by CONTRACTOR immediately after planting. Water <br /> will be provided by the adjacent landowner. CONTRACTOR must provide a tank or water <br /> truck to transport water to the site. <br /> TREE PLANTING SPECIFICATIONS <br /> Planting of trees will occur in the following manner: <br /> Hand tools: It is anticipated that all trees shall be hand planted. The hand tools used <br /> by CONTRACTOR shall have a minimum fourteen inch (14") length and four inch (4") <br /> minimum width planting blade. The head or scalping blade of a mattock is not to be <br /> included in the minimum length measurement. Use of dibbles and planting bars is not <br /> allowed. Tools will need to be supplied by CONTRACTOR. <br /> Care of Trees <br /> Trees shall be protected at all times from drying, heating, smothering, freezing, crushing, <br /> drowning, abrasion, rapid temperature fluctuations, or contact with injurious substances. <br /> Shipping containers containing trees shall be opened only in full shade, and shall not be <br /> exposed to direct sunlight. <br /> Page 8 of 10 <br /> Rev.01/31/2024 <br />
