Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest tenth (0.1) acre and paid at the unit <br /> price per acre bid on the Bid Schedule Item 5.0 and are not guaranteed. The prices bid <br /> shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and <br /> incidental for the revegetation within the Project Area as described in these specifications. <br /> Payment shall be as this item is completed approved by PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> ITEM 6.0 <br /> Following grading of the erosion features, install straw wattles over the graded areas in <br /> accordance with Section 22 of the General Bid Specifications, 2009 and in accordance <br /> to the manufacturer's specifications. <br /> Straw Wattles <br /> The CONTRACTOR will provide and place biodegradable straw wattles, at the direction <br /> of the PROJECT MANAGER. Straw Wattles must be installed according to Section 22.3 <br /> of the 2009 General Bid Specification. An estimated five hundred linear feet (500 Lf.) <br /> of biodegradable straw wattles are required. <br /> Acceptable straw wattles will be manufactured from rice or certified noxious weed free <br /> agricultural straw, and must be wrapped in tinsel (wood based) netting. The wattles must <br /> be a nominal nine (9) inches in diameter with a weight of at least thirty (30) pounds per <br /> twenty-five (25) foot length. Triton Environmental 9" straw Wattles, logs/Restoration logs <br /> or approved equivalent must be used. Wattles will be installed on contour in trenches that <br /> are a minimum three inches (3") in depth and nine inches (9") wide. Wattles will be <br /> anchored in the trench by 3/a" x 3/a" by 24" stakes on four foot (4') centers. The ends of <br /> adjacent wattles must be butted one to another. Wattles must be certified weed free. <br /> If impaired, the CONTRACTOR shall take action within 24-hours of identifying the <br /> deficiency to repair the sediment control structures. Split or torn segments shall be <br /> repaired or replaced. Broken or split stakes shall be replaced. Locations where rills and <br /> other evidence of concentrated runoff have occurred beneath the segments shall be <br /> corrected. <br /> Sediment and erosion control structures will be left in place following completion of <br /> construction activities unless directed to be removed by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> Measurement for payment shall be made of the actual unit quantities provided and <br /> installed according to specification, at the unit cost indicated under Item 6.0 on the Bid <br /> Schedule. The unit price bid for sediment and erosion control structures will cover all costs <br /> for completing the activities required under this Item. Payment shall be as this item is <br /> completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER.
