COLORADO <br /> vDivision of Reclamation. <br /> Mining and Safety <br /> Ueparrment of Nat:aral Resaures <br /> DATE: August 6th, 2022 <br /> TO: Interested Contractors <br /> FROM: Julie Annear, Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety <br /> RE: Hasty Pit Bond Forfeiture Project- Permit M-1996-013, Discretionary <br /> Purchase <br /> Enclosed is a brief description and bid schedule for the Hasty Pit Project. <br /> PROJECT LOCATION <br /> The Hasty Pit is located in the NE 1/4 Section 33, Township 22 South, Range 50 West. <br /> The site is approximately 3 miles west of the town of Hasty in Bent County, Colorado. <br /> The pit is situated on top of a ridge overlooking the John Martin Reservoir to the south. <br /> Access to the site is from the northeast off Co Rd JJ. The site was an actively permitted <br /> mine. The permit was revoked and the bond was forfeited. <br /> WORK SUMMARY <br /> The Hasty site encompasses approximately 55 acres of rangeland that was disturbed <br /> during a gravel mining operation. Rills and gullies have formed in the northeast portion of <br /> the site. Also, there are barren areas requiring seeding. The reclamation work will involve: <br /> 1) Grading erosion gullies to 3H:1V slopes 2) Tamarisk will be treated with herbicides. 3) <br /> Revegetating approximately 8 acres. <br /> MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING- <br /> A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site showing will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, <br /> August 9th, 2022. The meeting will start at the Valley Grocery in Hasty Colorado. <br /> The address is 100 S. Main Street, Hasty Colorado. <br /> To get to the pre-bid meeting from Lamar, from the intersection of Highway 385 and <br /> Highway 50, travel 19 miles west on Highway 50 to the Valley Grocery. <br /> The purpose of the Pre-Bid meeting is to afford potential bidders the opportunity to <br /> inspect the proposed work and access conditions. Bidders are advised to be prompt. A <br /> sign-in sheet will be available at the Pre-Bid meeting for firms to register their <br /> attendance.
