The EPF certification process will entail approval of a design and construction plan by
CDRMS followed by an as-built of the EPF. On a case-by-case basis, construction reporting of
pertinent QA/QC data will be provided. CDRMS will be informed of all EPF construction schedules and
is welcome to inspect any EPF construction.
Non-fuel Chemical Storage Area: This EPF certification shall include all designs and specifications of
the storage area. Details of floor and wall specifications, lining and/or sealing against chemical spills,
and storage volume demonstrations will be provided.
Surface Water Controls: This EPF certification shall include all designs and specifications of the
surface water controls. Details of berm specifications, ditch dimensions, material details, and hydrologic
calculations will be provided.
Water Lines: This EPF certification shall include all designs and specifications of the water lines for
mine water. Details of pipe specifications, routing, sub-grade preparation, maintenance requirements,
and flow capacity will be provided.
Water Ponds and Tanks: This EPF certification shall include all designs and specifications of the
water ponds and tanks onsite. Details of tank specifications, maintenance requirements, and storage
capacity will be provided.
Water Treatment Facility: This EPF certification shall include all designs and specifications of the
water treatment facility. Details of tank specifications, maintenance requirements, reagent or
component usage, backup systems, and throughput capacity will be provided.
Ore Storage Building: This EPF certification shall include all maps and drawings of the facility,
detailed information regarding floor and wall specifications, lining specifications and installation as well
as all leak testing.

For all EPFs that have not been built at the time of this application, it is anticipated that they will be built
in the summers of 2025, 2026, and 2027, when weather facilitates construction. As-builts for new
facilities certified by a professional engineer will be provided to CDRMS following construction.
Minimum standard construction steps for liners and pipes installed at Cross Gold Mine are outlined
below. These are applicable to any new liner or pipe installation at Cross Gold Mine.
Liner Construction – Minimum Standards
Prepare subgrade by excavating to the depth required for base material as required on design details.
Place base material as required by designs.
