Cross Gold Mine
December 2024 D-10

8. Primary Commodities
The Cross Gold Mine will produce precious metal bearing ores from the Cross and Caribou mine
complexes. Upon construction of the mill these ores will be concentrated and the precious metals
bearing concentrates being shipped offsite. The primary metals to be produced are gold and silver, with
lead and zinc being secondary metals produced depending upon conditions.
9. Explosives Use
Explosives are used in the Cross Gold Mine’s ore extraction process. All explosives storage and handling
practices will adhere to the relevant federal regulations, including those set by the Mine Safety and Health
Administration (MSHA). Explosives will be kept in an on-site magazine, with its location indicated on the
Exhibit C maps.
A variety of explosives may be employed, depending on the specific area of the mine. These may include
dynamite (stick powder), ANFO (ammonium nitrate fuel oil), or a combination of both. Detonation
methods may utilize fuse primers, non-electric (nonel) detonators, or electric blasting caps. All explosive
materials and initiation devices will be stored, managed, and monitored in strict compliance with MSHA
standards, US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and other applicable requirements.
