Cross Gold Mine
December 2024 D-8

consistently low metal loading and pH levels in the range of 6.4 to 7.6. See Exhibit U for chemistry data
and discussion.
GIR will comply with all applicable groundwater standards established by the Water Quality Control
Commission. Appropriate water treatment is being provided via the water treatment system sufficient to
meet applicable water quality discharge standards, as specified in our CDPES permit. The new water
system will continue the water treatment processes in a more robust and weather resistant manner.
7. Ore Processing
Future ore processing at the Cross Gold Mine will be contingent upon the approval of a fully designed
milling and tailings storage program. The permittee is currently evaluating paste backfill technology to
support the containment of tailings within the mine’s historic workings. After laboratory-scale testing is
completed, a comprehensive tailings storage proposal, along with the final mill design, will be submitted
to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS). Until these designs and
programs have been reviewed and approved, no ore processing activities will be conducted at the
Cross Gold Mine.

Throughout the operational life of the Cross Gold Mine, all ore will be stored inside the designated ore
building (see Map C-2). No geological or geochemical conditions are anticipated to impact the ore
building’s function as an Environmental Protection Facility (EPF), nor is its operation expected to
influence such conditions. The location of the ore building is provided on the Exhibit C maps.

There is no mill or tailings storage currently onsite. GIR is developing a mill for future installation and
will provide full design details as part of a technical revision to CDRMS. Tailings disposal will also be
addressed in a technical revision with the full mill design.
A conceptual mill layout can be seen in the Exhibit C maps and Figure D-1 shows a conceptual flow
chart of the milling process that is anticipated. These concepts are provided for the benefit of CDRMS
and the public to understand fully the long-term plans at the Cross Gold Mine.
