To ensure compliance with the Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining, and Safety(CDRMS)regulations, steep slopes
within the West Side Placer Project area will remain undisturbed to minimize risks of erosion, instability, and environmen-
tal damage.
5.7.1 Legal Limits and Compliance
The CDRMS mandates that slopes exceeding a 2:1 ratio (horizontal to vertical)require special considerations to avoid dis-
turbance unless adequate stabilization measures are in place. Slopes that exceed this gradient within the project boundary
will be left undisturbed to conform to geotechnical stability requirements and to reduce any likelihood of slope failure that
could compromise safety or environmental integrity.
5.7.2 Stability and Erosion Control Measures
For areas with slopes near the regulatory limit, enhanced erosion control practices—such as the installation of geotextiles,
silt fences, and controlled vegetation—will be implemented along adjacent, less steep slopes to prevent erosion from affect-
ing the undisturbed steep slopes.
5.7.3 Monitoring and Inspections
Regular inspections will be conducted to ensure that no unplanned disturbances occur on protected steep slopes.Moni-
toring systems, including aerial assessments and geotechnical instrumentation, will track any changes in slope conditions,
allowing for immediate response if stability is compromised.
5.7.4 Environmental Preservation
By preserving steep slopes and implementing buffer zones, the project will protect local flora and fauna habitats,contrib-
uting to biodiversity and complying with environmental regulations.Areas designated as non-disturbance zones will be
marked and maintained to prevent accidental encroachment.
11
HARDROCK/METAL MINING REGULAR(112)APPLICATION Au Pt Industries LLC I PO Box 1424-Edwards,Colorado 81632 1970 306 1 784
