Simmons <br /> Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Dear Mr. Simmons, <br /> This letter is to support the applicant's response to the Notice of Incomplete regarding <br /> Compromise Mine, File No. M-2024-046 dated September 10, 2024 with regards to the <br /> following item number 4, Geotechnical,Stability Exhibit: <br /> 4. Since the proposed mining plan includes blasting, Rule 6.3.3(1)(o)requires that the <br /> application include a(ieotechnical Stability Exhibit which demonstrates, in accore nce with <br /> Rule 6.5(4), that off-site areas will not he adversely affected by blasting during mining or <br /> reclamation operations. <br /> Please provide a revised version of the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit, %ith a <br /> demonstration "through appropriate blasting.vibration.geotechnical.and structural <br /> engineering analyses. that off-site areas %%ill not be adversely affected by blasting". <br /> These analyses should be certified by a professional engineer. <br /> We have reviewed the proposed M-2024-046 mining permit application and the underground <br /> mining plan. The calculations of vibration predictions for the proposed blasting, means, and <br /> methods provided in the revised Geotechnical Stability Exhibit(attached), indicate that the <br /> applicant is within OSM Safe Blasting criteria.
