Dams appeared stable and well vegetated with no signs <br />of seepage. Pond emergency spillways appeared to be functioning adequately. Decant structures are <br />aging and are in the process of being replaced. All ponds held water at the time of inspection. <br />o Pond 12 was discharging clear water at the time of inspection. The staff gauge read <br />approximately 0.05 feet. <br />o Pond 13 held water and algal mats were present along the south and west banks. The pond was <br />not discharging at the time of inspection. <br />o Springs above Ponds 12 and 13 were dry at the time of inspection. <br />o Pond 14 held water at the time of inspection and was discharging. The discharge was not <br />reaching the flume. <br />o Pond 10 holding water at the time of inspection. The dam was under construction to replace the <br />decant structure mechanism. <br /> <br />SLIDES and OTHER DAMAGE- Rule 4.12 <br /> <br />o No areas of new instability, slumping or sliding were noted above the ponds at the time of <br />inspection. <br />o Known slumps and springs above ponds 12 and 13 appeared dry and exhibited no new activity. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION - Rule 4.15 <br />General Requirements 4.15.1; Use of Species 4.15.2, Grazing 4.15.5 <br /> <br />o Revegetated areas of reclamation appear stable with good cover and an adequate species diversity <br />consisting of shrubs and grasses. The native perennials have gone dormant at this time of year. <br />o Most vegetation had gone dormant although numerous grasses appeared green, most likely due to <br />the late monsoon rains. <br />o Tree plantings at Pond 12 appeared vigorous and healthy and was beginning to change color. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE– RULE 4.18 <br />Wildlife sightings included red and white tailed hawks and waterfowl on the ponds. <br /> <br />INSPECTION, ENFORCEMENT and CIVIL PENALTIES – RULE 5 <br />Inspections 5.02; Availability of Records <br />Records were not inspected as this was a partial inspection. <br /> <br />No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending. <br /> <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED <br />Thumb drive of SL9. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
