The inspection was conducted, and the report and photos prepared by me, Robin
Reilley of the DRMS. Graham Roberts Trapper Mine representative was present throughout the
inspection as was Jim Stark of the Office of Surface Mining. No hydrologic or air quality issues were
detected at the time of inspection. Skies were partly cloudy, and there was an intermittent breeze.
Temperatures ranged between 45 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

PERMITTING ACTIONS in PROGRESS:
SL 25
PR12

INSPECTION

GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
Roads were being watered and coal and overburden were being loaded and hauled.

J Pit West: Mining to the east area of the pit is scheduled for late this year (2024). Mining should be
completed early next year (2025) so reclamation could begin. The Queen Ann dragline was staged in J
Pit West. J Pit mining will resume in the G seam once the dragline is repaired. There was some standing
water on a portion of the south pit wall.

D Pit: Topsoil depths were measured in the D Pit. Topsoil was being spread in the D Pit area where it
had not been spread in 2023. D Pit discing and seeding are scheduled for later in the week. The
temporary seed mixture comprised of triticale although dormant showed good germination and cover.
Erosional features existing at the apex of the D Pit constructed drainage as well as areas between check
dams and along slopes had been repaired.

N Pit: Coal extraction was idle at the time of inspection. A coal pile exists mid pit. This pile was being
added to for eventual loading and hauling from the west end of the pit. The N Pit west end will be
backfilled providing access to the next level coal. All the adits in the N Pit are backfilled. An interburden
blast was set up on east end of the pit.
