58-14-199
The 1 installed Hydrology wells were plugged and abandoned winter of 2003, the plugging
report submitted to CDRMS April 9, 2004. Pad 58-14-199 was formerly B3-14-L4 and within
NOI P-2001-037 and then transferred to current NOI P-2003-018 in July 24, 2006. The well
casing was cut off at 4ft below final grade, a metal cap welded with well name identification
scribed on cap. The final reclamation phase was completed in the fall of 2010. The pad was
de-compacted and restored to existing grade, stabilized topsoil was utilized to provide
approximately 4" of topsoil covering prior to seeding. The pad was drill seeded per the
approved BLM seed mix, stabilized by weed free straw mulch. In 2019, DRMS annual
inspection it was noted a small depression at the northern side of the pad. Top soil was hauled
to location, the area of concern was recontoured and seeded with BLM 2014 recommended
seed mix and monitored. The continued efforts to monitor for noxious and annual weed
management has been ongoing to current date and spot seeding where vegetation was stress
from over grazing by the wild horses in the area. Currently there is a diverse vegetation
throughout the pad with tall grasses in spring season and by mid-summer it is heavy grazed by
the wild horses. CDRMS annual inspection determined the pad has sparse cover but sufficient
grass established despite the continued grazing press. Overall vegetation density is low due
to continuous grazing pressure but is greater than the adjacent undisturbed areas. No noxious
or annual weeds observed. Final reclamation has been achieved.
SIGNED STATEMENT:
All reclamation requirements of prospecting NOI P-2003-018 for the Mahogany Research
Project— Public Land Prospecting Project have been satisfied by virtue of no new surface
disturbances being created at the proposed drill pad site or access route subsequent to NOI
issuance.
Signed: i gae4A, Printed Name: Samantha Baker
5
