During the inspection the riser pipes were turned off. The trenches were dry during the
inspection (Photo 3). There was no evidence of recent water application from the riser pipes. The furthest south
riser pipe had a small leak from its valve. The Division noted this during the September 19, 2024 complete
inspection. The leak was small and only a small puddle of water had formed on the ground at the base of the pipe.
The Division saw Mr. Brett Fontanari during the inspection and notified him that the pipe’s valve had a small leak.
Mr. Fontanari stated that he was thinking he would repair the valve after the water has been turned off for the
season.
During the inspection, Mr. Fontanari’s sprinkler irrigation system was active in the northern portion of his Middle
Field. There were no observed impacts to any of SCC’s reclamation projects.
The Carey Pit is located in the southwestern portion of the permit boundary. The Landowner’s pit is located on
the southwestern side of what is referred to as Tract 71. The pit was dry during the inspection (Photo 4). There
was no indication of recent water application from the landowner’s buried pipeline, through a short open trench,
into the pit.
The landowner has a buried pipeline on the southern portion of Tract 71. The buried pipeline connects to an open
trench at the southwestern portion of Tract 71. The buried pipeline was not connected to the trench during the
inspection. The trench extends from eastern portion of tract 71 (Photo 5) to the northern, and then continues to the
northwestern portion (Photo 6). The trench was observed to be dry. There was no indication of recent water
application within the trench.

RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:

The remaining reclamation parcel permitted at the Roadside Mine is referred to as the TR-69 Repair Area. The
parcel is located in the southwestern portion of the permit boundary and in the northern portion of Tract 71. The
site was stable with vegetative cover (Photos 7 and 8). Vegetation has dried out due to the end of the summer
season starting into the fall. There were no observed signs of erosional features. No indications of differential
settling were observed. The reclamation parcel is approximately 0.4 acres in size and was delineated by a wire
fence. A mine identification sign was seen posted in an unobstructed fence post on the southern facing fence. The
down gradient portions of the reclamation parcel had straw waddles placed on them. The straw waddles were in
good condition during the inspection. No off-site impacts were observed.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None
OTHER (SPECIFY): None
