(i) Specify if explosives will be used in conjunction with the mining (or reclamation). In
consultation with the Office, the Applicant must demonstrate pursuant to Rule 6.5(4),
Geotechnical Stability Exhibit, that off-site areas will not be adversely affected by blasting.
No explosives will be used in conjunction with mining or reclamation.
(j) Specify the dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be used for the mining
operation. Describe any improvements necessary on existing roads and the specifications to
be used in the construction of new roads. New or improved roads must be included as part
of the affected lands and permitted acreage. Affected land shall not include off-site roads
which existed prior to the date on which notice was given or permit application was made to
the office and which were constructed for purposes unrelated to the proposed mining
operation and which will not be substantially upgraded to support the mining operation.
Describe any associated drainage and runoff conveyance structures to include sufficient
information to evaluate structure sizing.
Mining traffic will enter and leave the site via the pre-existing road which is approximately 20
feet wide. A road will be constructed beginning on the west side of Unit A where the pre-
existing road currently is located adjacent to the permit area. This road will be constructed
into Unit A from that point and remain in place until final reclamation occurs. No new roads
are needed to access the proposed operation at this time and no improvements are necessary
for the existing access route. The road will be maintained as necessary to allow continued
access into the mining site. Additional internal haul roads will be constructed as mining
commences to the north between Units A and B. This road will bifurcate the Units and be
extended to the north to accommodate haulage from the North Section Units back to the
Processing Site in Unit A.The road will be constructed on an as needed basis up to the bottom
of Unit D and reclaimed as mining moves back south to Unit A. Then as mining progresses
into the South Section, the haul road will bifurcate the South Units and be constructed as
needed down to Unit J and then reclaimed as mining and reclamation move back north to Unit
A.By doing it this way, reclamation of the road is incorporated into reclamation of the mining
units.
CoProp LLC—Rodeo Dunes Mine Page 5 of 5
Construction Materials Regular Operation(112(c))Reclamation Permit Application Form
