Permit# M-1989-084 Oak Creek Pit Technical Revision Narrative
Mine Plan Modifications
1) Change in location of plantable media stockpile—mine operator proposes to relocate
plantable media currently located at the mining disturbance limit to a location estimated
to remain undisturbed until final placement. The plantable media stockpile will be
located west of the current mining area near 38.29306 N, 105.29310 and will trend south
over life of mine, (phase 1 plantable media berm) as shown on the revised mine plan
and reclamation plan maps submitted with this TR application. As mining progresses
westward in 2025, all suitable planting medium encountered (berms) will be placed in the
proposed plantable media stockpile location in addition to plantable media from newly
disturbed surface. Plantable media stockpile slopes will not exceed 3:1 (H:V). When
mining has progressed to a point where the phase 1 plantable media will be used for
reclamation, a second (phase 2 plantable media) berm will be established along the
western border of the mine where it will be stabilized per plan.
A mix of native grasses from the approved site seed mix will be planted to minimize
erosion, to include western wheatgrass, Indian ricegrass, and grama grass.
2) Structures Located Within Permit Boundaries
Located in the extreme NW corner of the permit area, — 1/8th acre area has been
established as a post office box and waste collection location. A structures agreement
with the local Home Owners Association is included with this application.
The split rail fence along Access Road 6227 as well as barbed wire fence traversing the
site N-S are owned by the landowner/mine operator.
