There were no liquids stored at the site <br />during the inspection. The pad was well kept with all trash placed in the proper containers. <br />King II: <br />Facilities at the King II area include the prep plant, coal stockpiles, fuel and hydrocarbons storage, Mine office, <br />conveyor portals, mine portals and the shop. The site was organized and all trash was placed in the proper bins. <br />The site was stable with no erosional features observed. A small bucket of liquids was observed by the conveyor <br />portal (Photo 15), Mr. McCourt moved the bucket into the hydrocarbon storage building and placed the bucket on <br />a secondary containment pallet. There were a couple of barrels observed to be on the concrete pad of the <br />hydrocarbon storage building (Photo 16). The operator moved all containers to proper secondary containment <br />pallets. Photos were supplied in the August 28th letter to the Division. <br /> <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02: <br /> <br />Mine Identification signs were posted on the entrances to the King I and King II areas. The signs were in good <br />condition and legible. The locations of the signs were easy to spot. Information with the permit number, <br />permittee and the Division were included on the signs. <br /> <br />TOPSOIL – Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> <br />King I: <br />Two topsoil Stockpiles are located at at the King I mine. One the facilities pad below the refuse piles, and the <br />other is on the south side of the URDA (Photo 17). Both piles were stable with vegetative cover. There were no <br />erosional features observed. No loss of topsoil material was identified. <br />King II: <br />Two topsoil piles are located at the King II area. One is to the south of the sediment pond and the other is north of <br />the air jig (Photo 18). The topsoil piles were stable and vegetated. No erosional concerns were noted.
