According to the soils report, below that depth is native bedrock.
• Within Soils Unit Fo, the strippable topsoil (loam, four inches and clay loam,
sixteen inches) is from the surface to twenty inches. In this unit, we propose to
strip the upper twelve inches to obtain sufficient topsoil for site reclamation.
Beneath the topsoil is approximately forty inches of gravelly, sandy clay loam.
The remaining eight inches will be used as fill.
• It is not certain, at this time, if Soils Unit GeD will be stripped for mining.
According to the Soils Report, this unit is a sandy loam of sixty inches.
• Soils unit Cr is clay to sixty inches and is not a source of aggregate material.
• The other soils unit, Fh, is a minor unit within the proposed mining area. It is a
sandy loam and may not be a source of aggregate material. However, it may be
disturbed for use as part of the processing area reclamation.
14
