EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
6.3.3 - This is an open pit mine located approximately 16
miles northeast of Otis, Colorado and 650 feet west of Washington
County Road XX. From the intersection of Hwy 34 and Colorado 61
in Otis follow Colorado 61 north, 14 miles to County Road 54,
then east 6. 8 miles to County Road XX and north approximately
0 . 43 miles to the existing private road that leads to the mine.
This access also serves as property access for the rest of the
land controlled by the property owners . It is currently 15 feet
wide and the location is shown on the Vicinity Map-ExhibitA-1 supplied
with this application. Periodic grading will be necessary to
keep the road in its present condition and to make it passable
additional gravelly material may be added to protect it from the
truck traffic hauling material from the mine. It will remain
after mining is complete as access for the landowners .
The anticipated life of this mine to be between 5 and 15
years depending on the amount of material in the mine and the
market demand. The site is currently used as rangeland and is
zoned agriculture. The usable material on this site is 25+ feet
deep and consists of a gravely sand below the upper 6 feet of
topsoil and overburden. The mining operations may be done on a
lease basis so that there are other companies mining and process-
ing material under this permit . Those parties have not been
determined at this time.
The plan is to start mining where the road enters the permit
area and work north and west into the affected lands. This will
create an excavated hole on the site and when the bottom is
reached, the level area created will be used as stockpile area.
The working face will extend across the property from north
to south where material can be loaded directly into trucks if
needed. This face will be worked to the west along the width of
the permit area as mining progresses . Whenever mining gets
within 90± feet of a setback (mining limits) line the mining
method will switch to a method that leaves a 3h to lv until the
mining setbacks are reached. This will leave a slope that only
needs resoiling and seeding to complete reclamation. See the
Mining Plan Map-Exhibit E-2 for an example how the site will look when
mining has reached a time when approximately 50% of the permit
area has been disturbed.
As mining starts and progresses the section to be mined will
be stripped of topsoil/growth medium and the topsoil/growth
medium will be stockpiled around the perimeter of the site or on
Zuege Mine, LLC Zuege Pit
June 11, 2024 16
