A 19” pilot hole will be drilled, grouted, and cased with 16”
I.D. steel from the surface to the E Seam horizon and continue uncased to the B Seam horizon.
This will allow for the construction of a 22’ diameter raise bore ventilation shaft between the B
and the E Seams. This ventilation shaft will be lined with a 12” concrete liner immediately
following boring for a final diameter of 20’.

The pilot hole will be capped with a valve for possible future use.

At the time the B to E Seam ventilation shaft is no longer needed seals will be constructed in the
three E Seam entries to close off the shaft.

Please contact me with any questions regarding this submittal.

Sincerely,

Jessica Wilczek, P.E.
Manager of Engineering and Environmental Affairs

CC: Weston Norris- MCC
Cathie Pagano- Gunnison Co.
