The soil has 50 to 80 percent <br /> rock fragments. <br /> The C horizon has hue of 10YR, value of 5 to 7 dry, and 3 to 5 moist, and chroma of 4. The soil has 75 to 80 percent rock fragments. <br /> Shawa family <br /> The Shawa series consists of very deep, well to moderately well drained soils formed in thick <br /> alluvium or alluvium-colluvium derived from sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. <br /> Shawa soils are on fans, fan remnants, stream terraces, structural benches, mountain sideslopes <br /> and foot slopes. Slopes range from 0 to 65 percent. The mean annual precipitation is about 15 <br /> inches and the mean annual air temperature is about 41 degrees F. <br /> Representative Pedon: <br /> A representative pedon of this soil is located in the NW 1/4, SE 1/4, sec. 18, T. 12 S., R. 71 W., in <br /> Park County, Colorado.
