Permit M-1977-493—Climax Mine Technical Revision 37 (TR-37) <br /> and medium roots; many medium interstitial, few fine tubular pores; 25 percent gravel, 15 <br /> percent cobble, 30 percent stone; strongly acid (pH 5.4); clear wavy boundary. <br /> C -- 50 to 65 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) extremely stony loamy sand; massive; soft, very <br /> friable, non-sticky, non-plastic; few fine roots; many fine, medium, and coarse interstitial <br /> pores; 15 percent gravel, 15 percent cobble, 30 percent stone; medium acid (pH 5.8). <br /> Soil depth to bedrock is greater than 40 inches. The reaction of the soil is very strongly <br /> acid to slightly acid. <br /> The A horizon has hue of 10YR or 7.5YR, value of 5 to 7 dry, and 3 or 4 moist, and <br /> chroma of 2 to 4. The texture of the fine earth fraction is loam or sandy loam. The soil <br /> has 15 to 65 percent rock fragments. <br /> The E horizon has hue of 10YR, value of 5 to 7 dry, and 4 or 5 moist, and chroma of 3. <br /> The texture of the fine earth fraction is sandy loam or loam. The soil has 25 to 65 percent <br /> rock fragments. <br /> The Bw horizon has hue of 10YR or 7.5YR, value of 5 or 6 dry, and 4 or 5 moist, and <br /> chroma of 4 to 6. The texture of the fine earth fraction is sandy loam or loam. The soil <br /> has 35 to 75 percent rock fragments. <br /> The C horizon has hue of 7.5YR to 2.5Y, value of 5 to 7 dry, and 4 to 6 moist, and <br /> chroma of 4 to 6. The texture of the fine earth fraction is loamy sand, sandy loam, or <br /> loam.
