Permit M-1977-493—Climax Mine Technical Revision 37 (TR-37) <br /> Map Unit: 367B <br /> Scout - Leadville families complex, 5 to 40 percent slopes. <br /> Ecological Land Unit: 36713—subalpine fir and Engelmann spruce on montane and subalpine, <br /> nearly level to moderately steep mountain slopes and benches. <br /> MAP UNIT SETTINGS <br /> Location: throughout the survey area, major extent. <br /> General Landforms/Geomorphology: nearly level to moderately steep mountain slopes and <br /> benches. <br /> Parent material: residuum and slope wash. <br /> Geologic symbol: Pm, PPm,TrPs. <br /> Elevation range: 9,000 to 11,600 feet. <br /> Aspect: all. <br /> Climatic zone: montane and subalpine. <br /> Mean annual precipitation: 20 to 40 inches. <br /> Mean annual air temperature: 36°F. to 44°F. <br /> Average annual snowfall: 200 to 400 inches. <br /> COMPOSITION <br /> 50 percent Scout and similar soils. <br /> 40 percent Leadville and similar soils. <br /> Contrasting inclusions <br /> 10 percent Hechtman family on residuum. <br /> TYPICAL PROFILES: <br /> Scout <br /> A representative pedon of this soil occurs in map unit 367B supporting a seral lodgepole <br /> pine/grouse whortleberry community on a moderately steep 30 percent northeast facing <br /> backslope at 9,775 feet elevation located in the NE 1/4, NE 1/4, sec. 9, T. 6 S., R. 84 W., in Eagle <br /> County, Colorado: <br /> Oi -- 2.5 to 1.5 inches; undecomposed needle and twig litter. <br /> Oe -- 1.5 to 0 inches; partially decomposed needle and twig litter. <br /> A-- 0 to 7 inches; light brown (7.5YR 6/4) very cobbly loam, dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) crushed <br /> moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, very friable, slightly <br /> sticky, nonplastic; common medium and many very fine and fine roots; common fine <br /> interstitial and common very fine tubular pores; 40 percent subangular sandstone rock <br /> fragments; very strongly acid; clear smooth boundary. <br /> E1 -- 7 to 19 inches; light reddish brown (5YR 6/4) extremely cobbly fine sandy loam, reddish <br /> brown (5YR 5/4) crushed moist; weak fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, <br /> nonsticky, nonplastic; many very fine and fine and many medium and coarse roots; many fine <br /> to coarse interstitial pores; 65 percent subangular sandstone rock fragments; strongly acid; <br /> clear wavy boundary. <br /> E2 -- 19 to 30 inches; yellowish red (5YR 5/6) extremely gravelly sandy loam, light reddish brown <br /> (2.5YR 6/4) crushed moist; weak fine and medium subangular blocky structure; soft, very <br /> friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; common fine and medium roots; common medium and coarse <br /> and many fine tubular pores; 72 percent subangular sandstone rock fragments; strongly acid; <br /> clear smooth boundary. <br /> Exhibit I —Appendix A I-A-12 March 2024 <br />
