MW-2 is north of the site next to an irrigation pond where flood irrigation runoff pools. The
elevated nitrite and nitrate levels in this well is consistent with fertilizer use with flood irrigated agriculture. The full
analytical results are included in the attachments. The analysis for Lithium was not performed by the lab on the samples
provided due to a miscommunication.
The approved Groundwater Monitoring and Mitigation Plan specifies that MW-2 will be sampled yearly in the same
month as the initial sampling. Red Tierra will sample MW-2 annually in August and proposes to utilize future sampling
results, prior to mining activities disturbing groundwater,to set the baseline and reporting values for these analytes.
Since multiple of the analytes listed in Tables 1 through 4 have no likelihood of being introduced by mining, Red Tierra
proposes to remove the following analytes from the MW-2 sampling schedule: Foaming agents, Phenols, Chlorophenols,
Total Coliforms,Asbestos. Baseline lithium values are proposed to be gathered in both MW-2 and MW-5 during the 2024
sampling.
MW-5 was sampled to get up-gradient baseline data and is not specified to be tested again(with the exception of lithium)
according to the approved Monitoring and Mitigation Plan.
Phased Bonding
The Section 20 Gravel Mine is currently going through the Weld County Use by Special Review process which will likely
not be approved until Spring 2024. The site currently holds a DRMS 111 permit with Jalisco International as the
permittee. In the interest of having only one (1) active permit at the site, Red Tierra proposes to close out the Jalisco
permit and to have Jalisco be the interim operator for the initial phase of mining under the 112 permit. This would create
an initial phase in the Mining Plan where mining would occur above the groundwater table in two approximately seven
(7)feet deep mine pits. No processing will occur at the site during this phase. Once the pits are mined out, Red Tierra
