Ustic Torriorthents consists of shallow to moderately deep, fine to meditan <br />textured, well drained soils over shale and thin sandstone lenses at a depth of <br />10 to 40 inches. These soils have light rnlored surfaces and substratum layers, <br />with low to moderate perr.~eability, low available water capacity, a moderate wind <br />er~ion hazard and a high water erosion hazard. <br />Capability Unit: VIIe non-irrigated <br />Mat~pim Unit Clam~llic Paplaouolls, flooded (AW) `hr <br />These are deep, poorly drained soils on first river and stream terrace floodplains. <br />Typically the surface layer is a dark grayish brown loam about 16 inches thick. <br />'Ilia underlying material is stratified sarY3y loam, silt loam, and silty clay looms <br />to 60 inches or more. In some areas, sand and gravel may be present below 40 in- <br />ches. The water table is at about 10 inches. <br />Eresi~ Hazard: Is slight fran wind and water.
