Sedgwick County Road and Bridge Gravel Pit Page 15
112(c) Operation Reclamation Permit February 25, 2024
7.3 Water Use
Water is not expected to be used unless hydro mulching is done. If Hydromulching is used, each
of the 3 phases of reclamation will use about 11,350 gallons of water for hydromulching. This is
estimated by assuming a 1.9 acre area to reclaim and water requirement rate from erosion control
products information guide from Mat, Inc (Appendix C). This amount of water will be required in
bulk every 7 years as the mining phases complete.
Water trucks shall provide the water for hydromulching if it is used.
8.0 EXHIBIT H—Wildlife Information
The CPW conducted a site visit and determined that there will be no significant impacts to local
wildlife species or wildlife habitats. No endangered or threatened wildlife species are known to
these locations. The proposed project is in a short grass prairie habitat that is in a production area
for Greater Prairie Chicken, but there are no known Greater Prairie Chicken breeding area in that
area. If during mining activities, wildlife species dens or nests are encountered it is recommended
that the local District Wildlife manager as soon as possible to prevent the accidental take of that
species. The statement from the CPW is in Appendix D.
There will be a temporary loss of habitat for wildlife from operations and noise of operations. This
is only expected in the immediate area of activity.Post-reclamation will be done in a way to return
the habitat to a natural state.
9.0 EXHIBIT J—Vegetation Information
9.1 General Information
As shown in Appendix I, the USGS national vegetation classification survey information for the
site are as follows:
The vegetation classification for the site are Division 2.B.2.Nb Central North American Grassland
and Shrubland. The group is G 144 Great Plains Shortgrass Prairie.
Division 2.B.2.Nb Central North American Grassland & Shrubland
Z:IP%lectslSedgwick County12023 Gravel Pa PermittmglPermit AEC
