REVEGETATION REQUIREMENTS
All areas disturbed during reclamation work and any other areas specified in these Special
Conditions will be revegetated according to the Revegetation Specifications, SWS 20, in the
General Bid Specifications 2009. Commercial fertilizer and certified weed-free mulch are
required for this project. Seed will be supplied by the DRMS. Cost for revegetation must be
included in the lump sum price bid for each mine closure.
Zone 5: High-Elevation Meadow, Coniferous Woodland/Forest & Aspen seed mix will be used
on all disturbed areas.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment made for this bid item. Payment will be made on a
lump sum basis for each closure according to the lump sum price in the Bid Schedule. The
CONTRACTOR must estimate how much area will be disturbed during reclamation activities.
The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment, revegetation efforts and all
other items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks as described in Item 3.0.
Item 4.0: Load and Transport Rockfill
This Item covers the loading and transport of up to one hundred and fifty (150) cubic yards of
rockfill from a nearby stockpile to the work site. The rockfill consists of large concrete blocks,
piers and rubble ranging in weight from 200 to 12,500 pounds. CONTRACTOR is responsible
for providing equipment capable of loading the concrete rockfill at the stockpile location,
transportation and delivery to the work site. The one-way distance from the stockpile area to the
work site is 0.9 mile over narrow (11' wide), unimproved dirt roads. County roads will remain
open during construction. CONTRACTOR must yield to all other traffic. Installation of the rockfill
shall be included in the bid price for feature #455 under Item 3.0. Selection and volume of
materials to be used will be determined in the field in consultation with CONTRACTOR prior to
starting this Bid Item.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for this task will be made at the unit price established in Item 4.0 of the Bid Schedule.
Measurement for payment will be made to the nearest cubic yard of concrete rockfill delivered
to the work site. The price bid for loading and transporting rockfill shall include all costs for labor,
materials, equipment, fuel and all other items necessary and incidental to complete the task as
describe. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT
MANAGER. Material quantities are estimated and full expenditure of this Bid Item is NOT
GUARANTEED.
Item 5.0: Load and Transport Fill Material
This Item covers the loading and transport of up to six hundred (600) cubic yards of common fill
material from a nearby pit to the work site. CONTRACTOR is responsible for providing
equipment capable of loading the fill material at the pit location, transportation and delivery to
the work site. The one-way distance from the pit location to the work site is approximately five
(5) miles (depending on route) over paved and dirt roads. Fill material at the pit location has
been previously excavated and is stockpiled on the pit floor. Installation of the delivered fill
material shall be included in the bid price for feature #455 under Item 3.0. Upon completion of
this task, the excavated face of the stockpile shall be graded to blend with surrounding slopes.
Rev. 07/07/2023
