G. S-fence Sediment Control System shall be installed before the application of other erosion
control or soil stabilization materials in the same area.
Measurement for Payment
Measurement will be by the lineal foot of S-Fence installed estimated at five hundred feet.
Project Manager will measure the lineal feet of S-Fence installed and accepted, and report the
measured footage to Contractor. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials (S-
Fence provided by DRMS), equipment and all other items necessary for installation of the Ertec
S-Fence as described in these specifications. Payment will be made only for the unit price bid
in Item 3.0 of the Bid Schedule, and as work is completed and accepted by Project Manager.
ITEM 4.0 INSTALL BERM
Install 4 foot high by 12 foot wide berm along the western side of the site running parallel to the
South Arkansas River for approximately 250 linear feet and along the northern side of the site
paralleling the river for another 250 linear feet, for a total of 500 feet. The purpose of this berm
is to prevent flow from entering the site. The berm will start on the slope to the south of the
site. There is an existing berm between the western and northern sections of the berm. The
eastern end of the berm will connect with the bank of the storm water pond. The berm slopes
must not exceed 3:1.
Material for the berm will be sourced from the approximately 3,000 cubic yard pile of
carbonaceous material stockpiled onsite. The location of this material is shaded in purple on
the Berm and Grade Map. The new berm will be revegetated as part of Item 8.0 Revegetation.
See Berm and Grade Map for the location of the berm and the location of the material for berm
construction.
Measurement and Payment
Measurement will be made at the unit price established in Item 4.0 of the Bid Schedule.
Measurement for payment will be made to the nearest linear foot of berm constructed
estimated at 500 feet. Payment will be approved by the Project Manager upon completion of
this item. Such payment will be considered full compensation for all labor, materials,
equipment, and all other items necessary and incidental to the completion of this bid item.
ITEM 5.0 SITE GRADING
The remainder of the carbonaceous material stockpiled on site after berm construction will be
approximately 2,000 cubic yards. The location of this material is shaded in purple on the Berm
and Grade Map. The entirety of this material will be used to grade the entire area, indicated as
red hatched area on the attached Berm and Grading Map. This 2 acre area will be graded
towards the existing storm water pond to the north from the slope to the south, the new berm to
the west and the current mining excavation to the east. The final ground surface will maintain
positive drainage towards the storm water pond at an average grade of 3.5%. See Berm and
Grade Map.
7/23/23
