STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN MORRISON QUARRY <br /> REVISION NO.8 1 August 2022 CERTIFICATION NO.COG500320 <br /> 1.4 ALLOWABLE DISCHARGES <br /> Allowable discharges under this permit are those associated with sand and gravel mining <br /> and processing. This permit authorizes the discharge of process water and stormwater <br /> runoff to the surface waters of the state. Non-stormwater discharges are limited to the list <br /> provided below. <br /> Allowable stormwater discharges are described in the following bullets: <br /> • Industrial plant yards <br /> • Immediate access roads and rail lines used or traveled by carriers of raw materials, <br /> manufactured products,water material or by-products used or created by the facility <br /> • Material handling sites, including those used for asphalt and concrete recycling <br /> activities, asphalt batch plants, and concrete batch plants <br /> • Sites used for storage and maintenance of material handling equipment <br /> • Shipping and receiving areas <br /> • Manufacturing buildings, including asphalt batch plants and concrete batch plants <br /> • Storage areas and stockpiles or raw material, intermediate products, byproducts, <br /> finished products or waste products (including topsoil, overburden, and materials <br /> associated with asphalt and concrete recycling activities, asphalt batch plants and <br /> concrete batch plants) <br /> • Areas where industrial activity has taken place in the past and significant material <br /> remain and are exposed to stormwater <br /> • All disturbed areas (other than those subject to process water discharge provisions) <br /> including mine pit out slopes <br /> • Stormwaterrun-on that comingleswith stormwater discharge associatewith sand and <br /> gravel mining and processing <br /> Allowable process water discharges are described in the following bullets: <br /> • Mine dewatering which includes: <br /> o Any water, including groundwater, seepage and stormwater (precipitation <br /> and surface water run-off) that is impounded or that collects in the mine pit <br /> (surface or underground workings) and is pumped, drained or otherwise <br /> removed from the mine through efforts of the mine operator <br /> 10 <br />
