The
ground was dry.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Some grading work has been done by BRL staff at the D Portal bench. It appears that more work is needed to
improve the drainage of runoff.

Six sediment ponds were inspected: B, C, D, F, J, and K. None of the ponds contained more than a small quantity
of water; several were completely dry. No significant problems were identified with embankments, spillways,
inlet channels, or other features of the ponds.

No problems with ditches were seen, apart from part of the large diversion ditch above Gob Pile #2. This ditch
requires sediment removal, just east of the large bend in the ditch. There was no sign that this ditch had
overtopped, but it will likely do that in the spring if not maintained. Basil Bear indicated by text that he plans to
clean this ditch during October of 2023. Also on Gob Pile #2, the sediment trap and channel below it appeared to
be functioning well.
