Pau[ Noto
Aprit 10, 2020
growing facilities on the Applicant's property as shown on the attached Figure 2. The spring
water is transported to the growing facilities by gravity -fed pipelines.
The Applicant will also be drilling 2 wells on the Ranch Land Development property, as shown
in the attached Exhibit D. The 2 wells and the Clevenger Red Creek Spring will be held to a
cumulative, annual volumetric limit of 10 acre-feet. When these wells are drilled there will
be a separate Glover analysis for each well at their drilled locations.
The growing facilities during this plan period will consist of an existing single family
residence, two support and extraction buildings (15,000 ft2 per building), eight (8) greenhouse
buildings (8,400 ft' per building), and 50 acres of outdoor marijuana growing space. Water
used for the grow operations will be supplied from indoor drip irrigation and outdoor hand
watering methods, and there will be no flood irrigation requirements. This SWSP is intended
to cover stream depletions caused by spring diversions and potentially well diversions for
commercial drinking and sanitary facilities and irrigation use of up to 10 acre-feet/year.
Projected water demands from the Clevenger Red Creek System and potentially the 2 wells
under this SWSP are shown in the attached Table 1. The commercial drinking and sanitary
water use is expected to total 0.33 acre-feet/year and the irrigation water use for the
Applicant's grow operation is expected to total 7.55 acre-feet/year for irrigation of
approximately 10,750 marijuana plants. Spring water will be delivered to the grow facilities
via an existing gravity -fed pipeline from Red Creek Spring, and will be stored in eight tanks
located near the grow facilities. For the purpose of this SWSP, any water diverted from the
spring for commercial drinking and sanitary use and irrigation use will be assumed to be 100%
consumptive and to cause instantaneous depletions to Red Creek in the vicinity of the SW 1/4
of the NW 1/4, Section 35, Township 20 South, Range 68 West, Sixth P.M.; therefore, stream
depletions under this SWSP are expected to total 8.22 acre-feet/year. However, the Applicant
intends to cover maximum depletions of up to 10 acre-feet/year based on the amount of
replacement water that has been secured.
Depletions from the proposed 2 wells have been calculated using a Glover analysis and the
following parameters:
Transmissivity: 1,347 gpd/ft
Storage coefficient: 1 X 10-4
Distance to river: 32,970 feet
Distance to boundary: 95,303 feet
The transmissivity value used was adjusted for the influence of the Rush Creek fault, which
was considered to impede the flow at that location. The calculations showed a 174 month
14.5 years) tag time to achieve 95% of the total depletion.
