Field
data and sampling forms are provided in Appendix C.
4.1 Baseline Monitoring Program
Water quality monitoring activities were conducted over five quarters beginning August 2022 and
ending July 2023. The monitoring program began in the third quarter of 2022 for the first quarterly
sampling event (Table 4-1). The remainder of the sampling events followed for the next four calendar
quarters.

Table 4-1. The surface water quality monitoring
locations (SW RC1 and SW RC2) were selected to bracket upstream and downstream location of the
flume and the location of seeps to evaluate water quality and flow (Figure 3-3). The flow monitoring
station location was selected based on a visual reconnaissance of the stream, during which water
depth in the creek and the creek bed slope were measured. To attempt to monitor flow continuously
year-round, a location approximately 500 feet downstream of the seep was selected.
Frequency of monitoring at the Site was determined during a pre-application meeting with DRMS in
August 2022. According to discussions with DRMS, five quarterly water quality monitoring events are
required in order to establish a DRMS acceptable baseline water quality characterization.
