C)
RPM,Inc.
There are no significant signs of geotechnical instability. Therefore, we believe two significant
criteria have been met, i.e., erosional, and geotechnical stability.
The third criteria, vegetation establishment is also required. As the photographs illustrate, the
seeded vegetation is established. We concede there are areas of sparce vegetation. As noted
above, the soil pods will form a seed source for the eventually revegetation of the site. Given the
rocky nature of the waste rock slope,we do not expect much more grass establishment. (Since
this is an historic mine site which was never mined by Mr. Corona, any soil which was salvaged
is what existed when he purchased the site many years ago. It is his summer home.)
Finally, we believe the post mining land use has been achieved, i.e., wildlife habitat.
As stated above, we believe the water quality issues have been resolved.
We therefore request the permit be released and the financial and performance warranties be
released to Mr. Corona for the following reasons:
• Post mining land use has been achieved.
• The site shows erosional stability.
• The site shows geotechnical stability.
• Vegetation is showing establishment.
• The water quality issues have been abated. Water is not being pumped from the
underground workings and the stream channel has been reestablished.
Best Regards,
l L
H.
