• Data validation
• Limitations on data use
• Interpretation and discussion of results
• Recommendations for future activities
• Verification of Butala employee training to visually identify impacted soil
A draft summary report will be delivered in electronic format (e.g., PDF and/or native Microsoft Office files)
to DRMS for review and comment within 60 days of receipt of all analytical data. A final summary report will
be submitted to DRMS,via email as signed PDFs,within 14 days of receipt of comments.Additionally, any other
report or document(e.g., Plan updates) prepared for the project will be delivered in the same manner. Delivery
of reports and documents as noted above will be the responsibility of the Pinyon Project Manager
Quality Control
Rinse Water Blanks
Equipment rinse water blanks will be collected to evaluate field sampling and decontamination procedures by
pouring distilled or deionized water over the decontaminated sampling equipment. One equipment rinse water
blank will be collected each day non-disposable equipment is used. Equipment rinse water blanks will be
obtained by passing water through or over the decontaminated sampling devices and then collecting the water.
The rinse water blanks that are collected will be analyzed for the COCs listed in Table 1. The equipment rinse
water blanks will be labeled, packaged, sealed and transported in the manner described above for the other
samples to be collected.
Field Blanks
There will be no samples collected where dedicated equipment is used and decontamination is not necessary.
Therefore, field blanks will not be collected. Equipment rinse water blanks, as described above in the previous
paragraph, will be collected in place of field blanks.
Temperature Blanks
For each cooler that is shipped or transported to an analytical laboratory, a 40-mL VOA vial (or similar) will
be included that is marked "temperature blank." This blank will be used by the sample custodian to check the
temperature of samples upon receipt.
Assessment of Field Variability(Field Duplicate or Co-located Samples)
Blind duplicate composite soil samples will be collected — approximately I blind duplicate sample per 20
stockpile composite samples collected. Blind duplicate samples will be assigned their own sample number so
the sample is "blind" to the laboratory. The actual sample location will be documented in the Field Notes.
Field Variances
As conditions in the field may vary, minor modifications to the sampling program may be required. When
appropriate, the Project Manager and QA Officer will be notified, and a verbal approval will be obtained before
implementing the changes. In this instance, an email will also be sent to the DRMS contact for the project,
documenting the change. Modifications to the approved Plan will be documented in the sampling project report.
Mr. Lucas West Page 12
Environmental Protection Specialist
